There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw was from the hand of God. Ecclesiastes 2:24

Our Big News

It's with joy that we announce
that we are expecting!

Lord willing,
We look forward to October 22, 2015
(probably later! :-))
for the arrival of our little one.

Two weeks after our fundraiser we found out we were expecting. Doretha did an amazing job of keeping it a secret! It was too fun to finally have this experience again; we weren't in a hurry to tell. :)

We told my family on my sister's 12th birthday in April. We had Doretha spill the beans to my parents while they were in the kitchen getting their plates filled. Mom didn't catch what she was saying at first then thought she was teasing - it was nothing unusual to hear talk about her baby or siblings someday anyway. When Mom realized she was serious her hand on the salad tongs froze. After the shock wore off she went back to dishing up. Then came out to the dining room laughing - she had dumped salad dressing on her potatoes. :-)

A week later we had Doretha call Monty's folks. They live near by but hadn't had a chance to tell them in person before Monty's sister's family came for supper that night. They were heading back to Haiti the next week and figured it'd be a good time.
They were all thrilled. The funny part was when Grandma asked Doretha if Mommy was excited.
"No, it makes her sick!"

We're all pretty excited though. :)
Doretha says it wasn't too fun keeping it a secret.
She was too "upsided"!
